A Project Guiding Young People from Bartın University: “Bartın’s High Schools Meet Midwifery”
As part of a social responsibility project, Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Midwifery introduced high school students to the midwifery profession. Under the guidance of Assistant Professor Dr. Yeliz Çakır Koçak, and led by Ecem Nisa Aygün, with team members Ogulshat Bahtiyarova, Ryszhan Gaziz, and Sevinch Shadyyeva, first-year midwifery students visited two high schools in the city center of Bartın.
Accurate Information on the Profession
At Fatih Sultan Mehmet Anatolian High School and Bartın High School, students made presentations on the history, responsibilities, and current roles of the midwifery profession. They also shared their own experiences and reasons for choosing the profession.
Raising Social Awareness
The presentations emphasized that midwifery is not limited to childbirth, but also includes sexual and reproductive health, family planning, pregnancy monitoring, and postpartum care. Both students and school administrations responded positively.

Dr. Yeliz Çakır Koçak noted, "Our goal is not only to promote the profession but also to raise awareness about health-related fields and support conscious career choices."
