Cancer, a significant public health issue today, is among the diseases that can be treated when diagnosed early. Health reports published in Turkey emphasize the crucial role of cancer screenings in increasing early diagnosis rates. Accordingly, every year in our country, the dates April 1-7 are observed as 'National Cancer Week,' during which the focus is on raising awareness about cancer and the importance of early diagnosis.
In collaboration with Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences and Bartın Public Health Center Education Unit, a booth event was organized on April 28, 2025, at Bartın University Ağdacı Campus as part of Cancer Week. During the event, participants were informed about the importance of cancer screenings, the benefits of early diagnosis, and screening methods, and brochures and posters were distributed. The event, which attracted significant interest from both faculty students and staff, also featured nurses and midwives from the Bartın Public Health Center, who shared information about current opportunities for cancer screenings and the challenges they encountered in the field, thereby raising awareness. Through this event, our university continues to contribute to efforts to protect and improve public health.
