In order to effectively combat marine litter and to avoid harming the ecological balance in the use of natural resources, a training session was organized for our students and staff on December 15, 2025, at our faculty. The training was delivered by Dr. Niyazi Erdem Delikanlı, a faculty member of the Department of Environmental Engineering at our University’s Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design. During the session, information was provided on the scale of the marine litter problem, the factors causing it, and the ecological, economic, and public health issues it brings about. The training concluded with a discussion on effective methods for combating marine litter, our individual responsibilities, and the actions that need to be taken.
