Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing Held the 2025–2026 Academic Year Spring Semester Opening Meeting

The Department of Nursing at Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences held its 2025–2026 Academic Year Spring Semester Opening Meeting on February 16, 2026.

The program took place at Ağdacı Conference Hall between 12:00 and 13:00, with strong participation from academic staff and students.

The event began with the presentation of the department’s academic goals and vision for the spring semester. In her opening speech, the Head of the Department of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Ayfer Bayındır Çevik, expressed her wishes for a productive, disciplined, and success-oriented semester for both students and faculty members. She emphasized that nursing education extends beyond the transfer of professional knowledge and aims to foster holistic development through ethical values, effective communication skills, and clinical decision-making competencies.

The meeting provided general information regarding the theoretical courses, clinical applications, and laboratory training that will be conducted during the spring semester. Particular emphasis was placed on student safety in clinical settings, patient privacy, and professional conduct. It was noted that clinical placement plans had been structured to further strengthen students’ professional competencies.

It was also stated that previous period feedback was evaluated within the scope of quality processes and that educational activities were updated in line with the understanding of continuous improvement. The importance of an effectively implemented academic advising system, strengthening academic guidance, and expanding professional development activities were also addressed within the program.

The spring semester opening meeting concluded with an emphasis on academic solidarity and institutional commitment. The Department of Nursing administration reaffirmed its determination to maintain a student-centered educational approach and to educate qualified nurses who are committed to ethical principles and scientific thinking.
