Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department Students Provide First Aid Training to Earthquake Victims in Fractures

"First Aid Training in Fractures" was organized by the students of the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences on Monday, May 22, 2023, for the earthquake victims who came to our city from 11 cities affected by the earthquake staying in Bartın Mehmet Rıfat Efendi Student Dormitory.

The event was attended the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing by lecturer Dr. Simge ÖZTÜRK emphasized the importance of first aid applications in fractures, stating that fracture formation may increase with the earthquake disaster and that the fracture can worsen and even life can be saved with simple and effective first aid interventions.

İlayda YILDIRIM and Leyla Rezan KIZGIN, students of the Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department, made a presentation on first aid in fractures at the event. Then, the individuals were shown how to give first aid in fractures in practice. Each of the earthquake victims were allowed to perform knee fractures, forearm fractures, hip fractures, wrist fractures.

At the end of the event, individuals thanked Bartın University students for showing sensitivity towards them and making them feel that they are not forgotten.
