The HEPDAK Training Workshop for Institutions was held on September 25–26, 2026, with the aim of raising awareness regarding the accreditation processes of higher education institutions offering undergraduate nursing education and contributing to the institutions' accreditation efforts.

The workshop, which facilitated the sharing of knowledge and experience regarding the accreditation processes of undergraduate nursing programs, was attended by faculty members and administrators from undergraduate nursing programs planning to apply for HEPDAK accreditation.

During the workshop, Prof. Dr. Elif Karahan, Dean of the Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences, shared her experiences and insights on "Challenges and Gains in the Accreditation Process," while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal Uysal, a faculty member in the Department of Nursing, delivered a presentation titled "Accreditation Processes: Sharing Experiences."

The presentation detailed the accreditation experience of the Bartın University Undergraduate Nursing Program, which received full five-year accreditation on January 16, 2026. Topics covered included the work carried out during the self-assessment report preparation, preparations aligned with standards, the systematic compilation of evidence, and practical examples implemented throughout the accreditation process.

In her presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal Uysal shared experiences specifically regarding conducting the self-assessment process based on teamwork and stakeholder participation, systematically evaluating standards, and regularly monitoring the evidence generated throughout the process. Additionally, practical examples and quality improvement initiatives developed by the Bartın University Department of Nursing during the accreditation process were shared with the participants. The pivotal role of team collaboration and effective leadership in achieving success during the accreditation process was emphasized.

The workshop aimed to enhance knowledge and awareness regarding the accreditation processes of undergraduate nursing programs, strengthen the sharing of experiences among institutions, and support quality assurance efforts.
