Breast Cancer Awareness Day Event Held
The stands were established in the center of Ağdacı Campus and the city center. At the booths, the visitors were very interested in learning the statistics and key research about breast cancer. The Faculty staff shared the information about the frequency of breast cancer, risk factors, the importance of early diagnosis and self-examination of the breast. Breast cancer was not only seen in women, but one in every 8 women and one in every 100 men were at risk. The brochures were distributed by the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences and pink ribbons symbolizing breast cancer were attached to the participants. At the end of the event, the pink balloons were released to the sky by saying 'Early Diagnosis Saves Lives ’.
Providing information about breast cancer, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Professor Sevim Çelik said that “Breast cancer is a disease caused by a tumor that is caused by the change and uncontrolled proliferation of one of the cell groups that make up the breast tissue. One in 8 women and one in 100 men are at risk for breast cancer. By explaining this risk with the stands we established, we drew attention to the importance of early diagnosis. ”
