The Nursing Department of the Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences conducted an orientation program for first-year nursing students starting in the 2026-2027 academic year. Attended by a total of 87 students, the program was held on September 25, 2026, at the Ağdacı Conference Hall. Information was shared to support the students' adjustment to university life and their nursing education.

The opening speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Elif Karahan, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Head of the Nursing Department. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Dinç, Deputy Head of the Nursing Department, provided information on the structure of the nursing curriculum, the department's operations, and the resources available to students during their education. The program emphasized the importance of supporting students' professional development from their very first year, alongside helping them adjust to the department.

As part of the orientation, students were informed about the city of Bartın and the Faculty of Health Sciences, as well as library and documentation services, psychological counseling and guidance services, the effective use of resources, and zero-waste management.

The program continued with laboratory tours. Accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Dinç, the first-year nursing students visited the simulation, professional skills, first aid, and anatomy laboratories, gaining firsthand insight into the practical training areas they would use during their education. By examining the laboratories closely, the students had the opportunity to learn about the practical training facilities available to them throughout their studies. The orientation program contributed to students making a conscious and strong start to both university life and their nursing education.
