"Gambling Addiction and Prevention" Seminar was held for our university students.
Our University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Dr. Lecturer Ayfer ÖZTÜRK, Inst. See. Aylin KURT and Inst. See. In line with the results of the research titled "The Relationship Between Gambling in University Students and Excitement Seeking Behavior and Psychological Resilience" conducted with Eda KES, and the 'Gambling Addiction and Prevention' Seminar, with the students of the faculties deemed risky in gambling addiction, within the scope of the studies of Combating Addiction It was held online on 11.05.2021 at 12:30 and 14:00 in two separate sessions.
The activity started with the sharing of the results of the research titled "The Relationship Between Gambling in University Students and Excitement Seeking Behavior and Psychological Resilience" by Mr. ÇELİK with the students. It was informed that pathological gambling addiction of our university students was not detected at a high rate, but that their sensation-seeking behaviors were high and their psychological resilience could be a risk factor in terms of gambling addiction, and they should be aware of this issue. Feedback was received from the students. Then Lecturer. See. He continued with the presentation prepared by Eda KES in order to raise awareness in gambling addiction and to prevent gambling addiction. In the presentation, information about gambling addiction, causes of addiction, risk factors, treatment, institutions that can be helped and prevention were presented. After the speakers' presentations, the questions posed by the students were answered. After the seminar, the students expressed that they would like to receive training on other addictions.
