Meaningful Support from Midwifery Students: Donation, Morale, and Hope Together

Midwifery students from Bartın University collaborated with the Turkish Red Crescent to carry out a social responsibility project aimed at promoting blood donation. Guided by Assistant Professor Dr. Yeliz Çakır Koçak and led by first-year student Bilgesu Alpdoğan, with team members Hatice Tunç, Bahar Babamuradova, and Sarvara Kabulova, students took active roles in the donation process and awareness campaigns.
Community Solidarity and Support
Information stands were set up in various parts of the city to inform and encourage citizens to donate blood. Volunteers provided moral support, served refreshments, and conducted basic health screenings such as blood pressure measurements.
Student Reflections
Participants shared: “It was very valuable for us to increase our sense of social responsibility and touch real needs. We also realized that our communication skills improved during the project.”
Institutional Acknowledgement
Turkish Red Crescent officials thanked all student volunteers involved and emphasized that such youth involvement strengthens social solidarity.
