Nursing Department Certifies Educational Quality with HEPDAK Accreditation

The Department of Nursing at Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences has achieved a significant milestone by receiving full accreditation for a period of five years from the Nursing Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association (HEPDAK), certifying the quality of its education and academic competence.

Within the scope of the evaluation process conducted by HEPDAK, which is authorized by the Council of Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK), the Department of Nursing was comprehensively assessed in terms of its educational structure, curriculum, academic staff, clinical practice opportunities, measurement and evaluation processes, and continuous quality improvement mechanisms. As a result of this rigorous evaluation, the department’s compliance with national standards and the effectiveness of its quality assurance system were officially recognized.

By obtaining this accreditation, the Department of Nursing has once again demonstrated its commitment to providing high-quality nursing education and to maintaining a culture of continuous improvement. The accreditation process contributes to ensuring that students receive contemporary, evidence-based, and practice-oriented education, while also strengthening the professional competencies of graduates.

Expressing his satisfaction with the fact that a program within the Faculty of Health Sciences has been accredited for the first time by HEPDAK, Bartın University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya emphasized that program accreditation constitutes a fundamental component of institutional accreditation processes. Rector Akkaya highlighted the importance of disseminating a quality assurance culture across all academic units of the university and congratulated the Department of Nursing, thanking all academic and administrative staff who contributed to this achievement.

The accreditation of the Department of Nursing further strengthens Bartın University’s quality-oriented educational approach and contributes to enhancing the university’s national and international visibility.
