Orientation Program Held for First-Year Students of the Department of Social Work in the 2025-2026 Academic Year

An orientation program for first-year students was organized by the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Health Sciences, on September 17, 2025. Following the opening speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK, who emphasized student-centered education, the vice deans, faculty secretary, department head, and faculty members introduced themselves.

As part of the orientation, the Head of Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan ACAR, gave an informative presentation about the program’s objectives, goals, content, and relevant coordinators of the Social Work Department. Afterwards, Research Assistant Rıdvan TEMİZ introduced the city of Bartın, our university, and our faculty, sharing useful information to facilitate campus life for students. He also delivered a presentation on quality and accreditation processes, academic and social activities, R&D studies, student rights and responsibilities, effective use of resources, and zero-waste management.

The program concluded with information about the distance education system, library services, sports facilities, dining halls, PDREM, the Career Planning Application and Research Center, the Office for Students with Disabilities, and the Medico Health Center.

At the end of the orientation, students’ questions were answered, and they were further informed about Bartın Province, our University, and our Faculty..
