Strong Connection with Graduates from the Department of Nursing: Online Meeting Held
In order to strengthen communication with nursing program graduates and improve the quality of education and training processes in line with graduate feedback, an online meeting was held with nursing department graduates on June 13, 2025, moderated by Nursing Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal UYSAL.
The main agenda items of the meeting included graduates' evaluations of the undergraduate education process, the currency of the curriculum and its compliance with professional practices, the adequacy of internships and applied courses, employment status and career development processes. While the participating graduates shared the contributions of the knowledge and skills they acquired during their education to their professional lives, they also provided constructive feedback on the aspects that need to be improved. In particular, common opinions were expressed on the standardisation of applied trainings, giving more space to current health technologies in the curriculum and increasing guidance in internship processes. In the meeting, the experiences of graduates in various fields such as hospitals, education and research were also shared. Issues such as professional difficulties, work-life balance and motivation problems were also discussed in a friendly atmosphere. Graduates also sincerely shared their suggestions for solutions to these problems. The importance of registering to the university's graduate tracking system was also emphasised, while information was provided for graduates planning master's, doctorate and academic careers. At the end of the meeting, the importance of alumni contribution to the strategic goals of the department was once again emphasised and innovative ideas to improve the quality of education were exchanged.
At the end of the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal Uysal thanked all participants for their valuable contributions and stated that such meetings are planned to be held regularly. It was stated that a sustainable communication with the graduates is extremely valuable for both the development of the department and the professional motivation of the graduates.
