The “First Aid Training and Instructor Education Center,” located within our Faculty and authorized by the Ministry of Health as the first and only center of its kind in the Western Black Sea Region, successfully held the fourth Certified First Aid Training Course for university staff and students on May 3–4, 2025.
Participants who completed both the theoretical and practical training sessions provided by the Center’s instructors—Assoc. Prof. Hilal UYSAL, Asst. Prof. Emine ÜSTÜN GÖKÇE, and Asst. Prof. Sibel ALTINTAŞ—went on to take the theoretical and practical exams administered by the Provincial Health Directorate, achieving great success. Those who passed the exams earned the ‘First Aid Certificate of Competence,’ approved by the Provincial Health Directorate and valid for three years.
Highlighting the importance of first aid practices in life-saving efforts, the Center Director and Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK, emphasized the growing societal need for individuals with first aid knowledge and skills, especially in light of the natural disasters experienced in recent years. Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK also stated that due to high demand, the Ministry of Health-approved Certified First Aid Training Course will continue in future sessions. She expressed her gratitude to BARU Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan UZUN and Bartın Provincial Health Director Dr. Özkan PULAT for their support of the Center.
