Webinar on Diabetes Management During Pandemic: Care, Eating Disorders and Stress Management Was Held

Our webinar "Diabetes Management in Pandemic Period: Care, Eating Disorders and Stress Management" was held by the Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Nursing on 14.04.2021 with intensive participation.
The event was attended by Health Sciences Faculty. It started with the speech of Dean Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK. Mrs. Çelik, said "During the pandemic period, chronic diseases are extremely important. We know that the pandemic is a process that makes it difficult both for individuals with diabetes who experience COVID and for the control and follow-up of diabetes. In this sense, I think it will be a very productive webinar and I would like to thank my teachers who took part in the organizing committee. Afterwards, Mr. Hatice UZUN, who honored us with his participation in our webinar, expressed "that a very nice program has been prepared, their thanks to our esteemed teachers for their invitation and contribution, and their wish to hold the next meetings face to face". Activity continued with the speech of  Bartın State Hospital Exp. Dr. Beyhan GÜNER. Dear Exp. Dr. Ms. Beyhan GÜNER emphasized that "Diabetics are among the groups that will be heavily affected by the pandemic since they have chronic diseases, and that they are constantly staying at home and physical activity is reduced due to the pandemic, so they have weight problems, so the webinar is organized on a very important issue".
After the opening speeches, the moderator of the event, Assoc. Dr. Ayfer BAYINDIR ÇEVİK stated, ``In the COVID-19 pandemic, the mortality rate is higher in diabetic patients and they are at risk accordingly, disease management, stress and eating disorders develop in diabetics. '' then gave it o present the first topic of the webinar, Hasan Kalyoncu University Faculty of Health Sciences Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Nermin OLGUN. Dear Prof. Dr. Nermin OLGUN made a speech titled "Effective and correct diabetes care management". Mr. Olgun provided important information on what we can do as a nurse for people with diabetes, the relationship between blood sugar control and coronovirus risk in diabetes, the risks posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, self-management support and protection of diabetic children. Activity, Assoc. Dr. Ayfer BAYINDIR ÇEVİK continued with her speech titled "Eating disorders seen in diabetics and their management". Bartın University Faculty of Letters Dr. Lecturer It continued with Gizem AKCAN's speech titled "Stress management in diabetes". The event was completed with the shares and questions of the participants.
The pandemic period has brought many difficulties with it. In this process, Mrs. Exp. Dr. Beyhan GÜNER and Mrs. Hatice UZUN, who honored us with his participation in the webinar, which provides important information about the problems encountered in diabetes management, which is one of the most important chronic diseases. We offer our respect and gratitude once again to. In addition, we would like to thank our esteemed speakers and participants who shared important information on diabetes management during the pandemic period.
