World Social Work Day “Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Lasting Prosperity” Panel was held.

“World Social Work Day” is celebrated every year in the 3rd week of March. This year, on March 18, 2025, Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Social Work organized the World Social Work Day Panel “Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Lasting Prosperity”. Prof. Dr. Sevim Çelik, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, emphasized the importance of intergenerational solidarity in ensuring lasting prosperity during her opening speech.
Çağrı ADEMOĞLU, Social Work Specialist at the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, Feyza Nur ÖZTÜRK, Social Work Specialist as Family Social Support Personnel, and Emre ESEN, who works as a social worker at Bartın 75th Year Nursing Home, participated in our panel.
In our panel, the service models applied in intergenerational areas such as family, children and old age, the difficulties encountered and the role and position of social work in this context were discussed in detail. With the valuable presentations and experience sharing of social workers, the importance and power of intergenerational solidarity and the importance of producing solutions together against the social problems of today and tomorrow were emphasized.
After the informative presentations of the social workers, questions and answers were taken and the panel was concluded with certificates of appreciation for their valuable contributions. All our listeners and students participated in the activities of our Social Work Club and the event ended with fun sharing.
