12 May Nurses Day and 12-18 May Nurses Week were celebrated with Scientific, Social and Sportive Activities with the theme of 'Our Nurses Our Future'.

Activities with the theme of "Our Nurses are Our Future" were held in our faculty for 12-18 May Nursing Week.

Nursing week activities; On Friday, 12.05.2023, our Nursing Department students, who were preparing for graduation on Friday, 12.05.2023, started with the planting of saplings in Kutlubey Campus of our university with the slogan 'Breathe into the Future'. The event was held with great interest by our students and academic staff despite the rainy weather conditions. The first life water of the saplings was rain.

Within the scope of the Nursing Week celebrations, the scientific programme organised by the Department of Nursing of the Faculty of Health Sciences of our University at the Kutlubey Campus Library Conference Hall started with the participation of administrators, academic staff, nurses and students. After the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Sevim Çelik, Vice Rector and Dean of our University, the scientific programme continued with the presentation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Karahan, Head of Nursing Department, "Our Nurses Our Future" in line with the theme of the International Nurses Association for 2023.

In the first part of the scientific programme, Prof. Dr. Arzu İlçe, a faculty member of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, delivered a lecture on 'Innovation in Nursing - The Future of Nursing'. The conference, which included the innovation process and examples of innovation in nursing practices, was met with great interest by all participants.

The second part of the scientific programme continued with the 'Disaster of the Century Panel'. In the panel moderated by Nursing Department faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal Uysal; Nurse Suna Uzun from Bartın State Hospital made presentations on "Nursing Approaches After Earthquake and Experiences as UMKE Officer" and Nurse Barış Yücel made presentations on "Being a Nurse in Disaster and Nursing Experiences After Kahramanmaraş Earthquake". Our Nursing Department student Özenç Aybek, on the other hand, talked about her experiences about earthquake from the perspective of a student nurse with her speech titled "Being a Student Nurse in Disaster - Experiences Related to Earthquake".

After the presentations, questions from the participants were answered. The event ended after the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the speakers.

Within the scope of the Nursing Week activities, a volleyball match organized by the Sports Commission was held on 15 May 2023 at 16:00 in the Indoor Sports Hall of Ağdacı Campus. The students' team won the match in teams consisting of Nursing Department students and staff. The event witnessed pleasant moments.

Before and after the Nursing Week activities, our students, academic and administrative staff came together socially with breakfast and dinner organisations. We would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun, our Dean Prof. Dr. Sevim Çelik, the Health Steps Club, the Sports Commission, the organising committee and all our colleagues and students who participated in the events.

  • A Symposium on the Role of Midwives in the Fight for Climate Change was Held.

  • Training on the Role of Students in Creating a Quality Culture in Higher Education was organized

  • Çaycuma Republic Prosecutor Sayın Yavuz CENGİZ visited to our Vice Rector and the Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK.

  • The Faculty of Health Sciences Came Together for a Festive Gathering

  • The Current Approaches and Artificial Intelligence in the Care and Management of Gynecological Cancers Symposium was Held.

  • Our University Conducted Health Screening as Part of 'World Health Day
